The Micheaux Award is designed to support and encourage creation and authorship of Arkansas-based projects from filmmakers of color through strategic funding opportunities.

MAFL EVENTS: RUSTIN FILM SCREENING

Join us for a free showing of Rustin at the Ron Robinson Theater on Monday, February 26. Doors will open at 530pm for “A Toast to Bayard Rustin” Free Champagne Happy Hour sponsored by @themicheauxfilmlabs.

The movie starts at 630pm and will be followed by a panel discussion about the importance of allyship and inclusion in movements for social change.

The event is a collaboration between the Arkansas CInema Society, the Little Rock Freedom Fund, Arkansas Public Policy Panel, Little Rock’s Racial and Cultural Diversity Commision, InTRANSitive, Human Rights Campaign, The Micheaux Award & Film LabS (MAFL), Yellow Velvet Studios, Get Loud Arkansas and the Central Arkansas Library System. 

The doors of the theater will open at 5:30PM and the film will begin at 6:30PM.
