SACRED DESIRES

Sacred desires is a film about a preacher who is tired of going through life basically just existing. He feels that there is more to life but while he grows spiritually, his sexual urges grow as well leaving him in a perplexed state of being. He tries to spice up his marriage to quench his urges but is rejected by his wife. When he is introduced to someone who he is told can help him, his new journey leads him down a path he wasn’t expecting leaving him at a crossroad having to make a decision rather to embrace his true authentic self or deny who he is and continue the life he has been living which was making him miserable.

This project will be an interview-style documentary showcasing prominent artists of color in Northwest Arkansas and discussing how far artistry has come over time in our region and what it will take for greater exposure and resources for artists of color.

A 20 year old woman who aspires to be a runway model, gets rejected from a modeling audition, however shortly after she meets a fashion promoter, who offers her the opportunity to reach the stars but serving in his advantage.

CONSEQUENCES

This is a short film about two black mafia type guys who are in Northwest Arkansas at a local bar/coffee shop late at night having a discussion about their life choices and what has led them to where they are. Very interesting details get revealed as the story goes on which makes for a compelling and entertaining story.

ROOM 422

Room 422 is a short drama that follows the unlikely bond that is formed between a burned-out Intensive Care Unit Nurse Nikki and her elderly patient a rude, guarded, recluse Mrs. Jones as Nikki works during one of the most extreme health crises in the last Century, the COVID-19 pandemic.

THE PRICE OF POULTRY

In “The Price of Poultry” we dive into the bottom of the poultry industry hierarchy--chicken catchers. Growing up in Arkansas, the poultry industry's strong presence is evident everywhere. Driving through the town of Springdale in the Northwest region, the impact of Tyson Foods is felt in the fabric of the city. While Tyson is the world's second-largest processor, the workers in Tyson's factories and farms have silently endured challenges for years.

All Units is a short film about a young Black couple officer Chris and wife, activist Autumn. As the two return home from fighting on the opposite sides of a Black Lives Matter protest this film takes a deep dive into Black activism. It explores the true definition of needing all moving parts to progress within the Black community and raises the question of what do we culturally consider true activism.

SHOW PUB QUEEN

A UCA short film about a young performer who works at an underground pub in order to survive. She wants to be recognized and appreciated for her talent rather than her physical appearance. This film is being made to highlight the overconsumption of social media and how that affects minorities. It also comments on the over-sexualization of women in todays media.

THE ASTRONAUT WHO LOST HIS HELMET

More than anything, TAY wants to fly. Determined to be the first Black boy on the moon, he zips around his neighborhood with his toy spaceship until tragedy strikes. On an abandoned playground, an injured Tay is discovered by ELIZA, a family friend and his older brother WOMACK. Together they bring the boy home and sit in wake for his life.
